Multiplication is considered another form of addition and probably evolved
from addition.

For example:   5 + 5 + 5 = 15  or 3 x 5 = 15  or 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 15

There are a couple of properties of multiplication that are important.

     1)  any number multiplied by one or a form of one equals the original
         value of the number.  4 x 1 = 4  In fractions 5 x (4/4) = 20/4 which equals 5
         This is because 4/4  is a form of 1.  4/4 = 1

      2) Any number multiplied by 0 (zero) is equal to 0.
          For example   34726165349825314 x 0 = 0
