DENOMINATE NUMBERS
 

Denominate numbers are numbers with units of measure attached to them.
Examples:   8 ml,  2 inches, 7/8 m

Mixed denominate numbers are numbers with two or more related units
attached to them. Example  8 mm 9 cm,  4 mile 56 yards

Numbers without units of measure attached are called abstract numbers.
Examples:  3/7, 56, 4 6/7

Add     3 dollars   35 pennies
        + 4 dollars   85 pennies 
           7 dollars 120 pennies   Would we leave the answer like this or
                                             would we convert it to 8 dollars 20 pennies?
                                              We would probably convert it.
