A number such as 4.73 is changed to a percent by moving the decimal point 2 places to the right and adding a percent sign. So 4.73 becomes 473%

To change a ratio fraction to a percent change the ratio fraction to a decimal fraction.

Example    Ratio fraction are changed to decimals by dividing the numerator by the denominator. So 3/4   is 3 ÷ 4  = .75  (If needed use you calculator)  Then move the decimal point  2 places to the right and add a  % sign.  So 3/4  = .75 , move the decimal point 2  places to the right and add the percent sign = 75%
