Equation

What is the domain of the following functions.
                  a. f(x) = 4x/(3x + 2)                      b. p(x) = 3x2 - 4

Part a:
The domain of f(x) = 4x/(3x + 2)   is all numbers except those that make the denominator equal to zero. Set 3x + 2 = 0 and solve for x.
3x = - 2
x = -2/3

Therefore x can equal all numbers except x cannot equal -2/3

Part b:
p(x) = 3x2 - 4

p(x) is a polynomial and therefore x can equal all R (real) numbers.
