These numbers are known as perfect squares because they have one factor that can be multiplied by itself and your answer will be the original number. ex. 25 = 5^{2}

Trinomials can be perfect squares t^{2} + 8t + 16 = (t + 4)(t + 4) = (t + 4)^{2}

r^{2} - 12r + 36 = (r - 6)(r - 6) = (r - 6)^{2}
