The below is the graph of the cot function and a right triangle:

cot D = adjacent side/opposite side The question to ask is does the opposite side become zero in the above triangle as the angle increases or decreases?
If so then the cotangent has asymptotes at those measurements. Remember the above graphs are in radian measure.

In the above triangle as ∠ D goes to zero what happens to the length of side A? It goes to zero.
Hence the cot graph has an asymptote at 00
What happens as ∠ D goes to 1800?

What happens to side B as ∠ D goes to 900 ? Does B equal zero? If so then the cot graph will intercept the x axis.

What happens at 1800, 2700 and 3600 ?
